A Vision Rooted in Service and Community Partnership
|
For more than a century, the Woman’s Club of Carlsbad has been a cornerstone of community support, philanthropy, and connection. For 63 of those years, our clubhouse has been at the heart of that mission, serving as a gathering place for women to enhance the lives of others through volunteer work, charitable giving, and connecting with the community. It has also provided a vital space where community members meet, share, and celebrate.
To continue to provide a safe and inviting space for the community at large, as well as a growing club membership, critical updates and improvements are needed because the clubhouse was built in 1962 and is now showing its age. As a result, the Club is starting the process of planning a multiphase effort to renovate and modernize our clubhouse. This ambitious but achievable goal will ensure that the clubhouse continues to serve as a community anchor for decades to come. |
Investing in a Hub for Community Connection
|
The demand for a flexible, welcoming community space has never been higher. As our community grows, so does the need for accessible venues for nonprofit meetings, celebrations, educational programs, and other civic gatherings. Critical updates and improvements will ensure that the clubhouse can be rented out to local groups, from students to seniors, who need a safe, affordable place to meet. Updating the clubhouse to ADA-accessible standards also will allow our venue to provide more community offerings, including a Red Cross Emergency Center or a place to offer CPR and literacy classes. With modernized facilities, updated amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere, our clubhouse will be a resource not only for the entire community but also for club members. Income from the increased rentals can be directed toward more charitable giving.

The Solution: Renovating the Clubhouse for Community and Club Growth
|
With your generous support, we can breathe new life into our clubhouse, making it a state-of-the-art facility that can serve as a hub for the community and a functional space where local partnerships can thrive.
Currently the clubhouse, at 3320 Monroe Street, is a 3,700 square foot building that sits on a one-acre lot. The building is air-conditioned and includes a large multipurpose room and foyer, a small prep kitchen and a secondary larger kitchen, restrooms, a stage, and an outdoor patio. Behind the building is a 57-space parking lot. Recent renovations made possible by grants, generous donors and Club fundraisers include a prep kitchen remodel, resurfacing the parking lot, the purchase of new tables and chairs, ceiling fans, new curtains, A/V equipment, and fresh paint. |
But this is just the beginning. With generous support from our members and community, we envision a revitalized and more inviting clubhouse. In collaboration with Moser Drew Architects, we are developing a multiphase design plan to transform the clubhouse into a modern, welcoming, and accessible facility:

The Club’s Impact: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
|
The Woman’s Club of Carlsbad celebrated a century of giving in 2025. Founded in 1925, our mission has been to strengthen the community and enhance the lives of others through volunteer service and philanthropic endeavors. Continuing our 100-year legacy as an important community partner, the Woman’s Club of Carlsbad has championed causes in child advocacy and education, violence prevention, health, community enhancement, environmental stewardship, and civic engagement. The Club has grown to 135 active members and supports over 50 local organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Solutions for Change, the Salvation Army, One Safe Place, the North County Food Bank, the Community Resource Center, and many more.
In 2024-25 alone, the Club provided 6,570 volunteer hours, $6,652 of in-kind donations, and participated in 63 community service projects. Since 2012, we have donated nearly $180,000 to charitable causes and awarded $61,500 in scholarships. Throughout the last century, the Club has been a source of giving and action for the community. With your support, the Club will continue to thrive for the next 100 years. |
