Hello MoW Angles,
Hope you have been enjoying your summer and are ready for a break from the heat this fall. I have not written in a while because you are ALL a "Well Oiled Machine." Things are running so smoothly and I am so proud to be a part of this ongoing AND growing project. Lots to share, so sit a bit and enjoy the news.
Our family of Angels👼 continues to blossom. As always, we welcome our newest helpers and appreciate them joining the team - in any way!
Meals on Wheels clients continue to call the office and thank us for the box/bag of sunshine they receive.
It really does make their day. Remember that! YOU do make a difference.

We are forever growing our sphere of donors. A note was put out to all MoW Delivery Volunteers asking for cards.A generous and thoughtful man replied: "I don't have a drawer full of new or used greeting cards...but if you give me a link, I will gladly buy some!"
And thus, an idea was born. To make things easier for those who just like to shop...they can do so online and it shows up right at the MoW office. Simple, they get a receipt and no one needs to drive anywhere. Besides, you know my philosophy about buying in bulk. Donation $'s go so much further this way.
***NEW*** A wish list on Amazon (you can purchase elsewhere too) Share it with friends, neighbors and colleagues. People really do like knowing where their donation dollars go.
The "We Care" Program is truly appreciative, as are the ~500 seniors we reach multiple times each year.

In July, Kathy S, and I had the privilege of working with some of the mothers and daughters from the National Charity League (aka, future WCC Members). We spent an afternoon sorting & bundling greeting cards - 480 BUNDLES Of GREETING CARDS! They were such a help and a joy to host. They have agreed to join the team and with their help, we will make it through the year without the project taking over my house. Yay!
Julie B. puts a lot of love ♥️ and attention into each Birthday 🎂 Box. She has all of you to thank for "goodies" that go inside. Julie still accepts NEW shoe boxes, both plastic and cardboard. With a coordinating Tag from Janelle and Laura...They are a celebration all by themselves.
Christine B is well on track to complete 600+ Holiday 🎁 Boxes by Dec 1st. She is committed and such a force! The beautiful white boxes that were donated by Michelle D. have now been stamped on the outside by a local girl scout troop. Such an upgrade with festive red and green print. Add the red yarn and VOILA! a gift to remember!

Save ALL of your unused greeting cards and Holiday cards! .... and your neighbors cards, and your sisters cards, and everyone else's too!

Kathy M. is doing a wonderful job with the toiletry kits, and wrapping bars of dove soap in a wash cloth. She has us well stocked! Save all the things she needs and bring them to the meetings or drop them at MoW.

Jo G. is making our Office 🏢 kits now and stays ahead of schedule too. Jumped in with both feet and always ready for more. Save for her
Rubber Bands, Large Paper Clips, note pads, sticky notes, pens, pencils, highlighters, markers & notepads. See Amazon List for items needed.
Dana & Barbara were a great team tackling Brain Games for a VERY LONG TIME. We have now replaced that with the puzzle books that show up in the Sunday Newspaper. Most folks don't use them so we collect them instead.
Kath M. Took on the ongoing task of cutting rolls of shelf liner into our "fancy" jar openers.
Steve B. - Long time WCC supporter, also supplies us with "jar openers" whenever we ask. Between the two, we have enough for Birthdays, Initial Response Bags AND Christmas Boxes. YAY! So grateful for your generosity.
Janell and Laura are still busy ALL YEAR with Birthday tags for Birthday boxes & upscaling used greeting cards to make new Note cards & Ornaments. They are a dynamic duo for sure. So dedicated, so talented and so appreciated. SAVE THOSE CARDS!
Helen Z. in addition to those Birthday crowns👑 (da, da da DAH!) she continues with origami folded note cards. Made from 12x12 paper if you have any scrapbooking supplies left over.
Consistently 50 of each per month... makes my hands tired just thinking about it. Julie B then enlists outside help (or herself) to write a Happy Birthday message.
Many hands make for....many happy Seniors!
Kathy S. supplies us with handmade cards every month. She gets her craft on and scatters some joy too! Clever, creative and consistent.
Callie G. has volunteered herself to make new greeting cards as well. They will also become part of our "bundles" in each IR Bag, Birthday Box and Holiday Box. Welcome to the team!
Jodi W. and her troops are always busy contributing. A mountain of Birthday wishes (cutest little thing with a candle on it).
Our Angels in Waiting; Kathy C, Kyle, Susie B., Marie, Diane C., Pam, Cleshelle, Jane. Ellen, Megan, Trish, Claudia, Sunny & April. Thank you for your willingness to help whenever we need you!
Lisa (me) I get my craft on too with the IR bag tags. (Initial Response) Approx 40 per month and making sure we have the other 25,000 donated items we use throughout the year. Love those used greeting cards for this project too. ASK YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS! If they are not suitable for Jennel and Laura, I make a tag (or tags) out of them. Assembling IR bags brings me great joy and we all have a part in saying "Welcome to MoW" to the new clients. Thank You!
There are no words to express the joy 💓 and gratitude 🙏 this project generates for SOOOOOO MANY PEOPLE. Thank you for your continued dedication.
In the coming months we will be looking for a new "Birthday Crown" design for Helen - I am sure help will be needed with that.
Tray favors - for any month, are always appreciated. 50 - 400 of the same item that matches the months' holiday, of course. NOTE, they do need to be at MoW before the first of the month. Requires a bit of planning, but makes it so much easier for the folks in the office (Theresa really, she takes care of distribution) Let me know if you are interested in getting your creative side busy.
