Philanthropy Is At The Heart Of The Woman’s Club Of Carlsbad

Picture
Woman’s Club Of Carlsbad, under the direction of its Philanthropy Committee, supports North County community service programs in the areas of: arts, conservation, education, home life, public issues, and international outreach.  With a desire to help meet urgent, local-community needs, the committee allocates the highest percentage of its donations to organizations dedicated to these current issues.  The committee, co-chaired by two seasoned committee members and made up of nine club members in total, researches and reviews worthy causes throughout the year.  Twice each year, in winter and spring, financial distributions are made to worthy local charities, based on consensus reached by the committee.  The amount of each distribution is based on the monies raised by the club’s Ways And Means Committee fundraisers held during the respective time period.  Additionally, the committee holds member and community drives, where goods are collected and given directly to the benefiting charity.
